Purpose
The Mission of the ALL Foundation is to enrich the potential of students, teachers, and community by funding scholarships and additional learning opportunities. The purpose is to raise funds to help students and teachers with programs supported by the Foundation.
About the name
The Foundation’s name was inspired by the impact of Alain Leroy Locke (ALL). Locke was an American writer, philosopher, educator, and patron of the arts. He is recognized as the First African-American Rhodes Scholar. This was accomplished in 1907. A noted philosophical architect, Locke was known as the "Dean/Father" of the Harlem Renaissance.
Resources
The Foundation directs resources towards:
Scholarships for high school seniors.
Recognizing staff for creative and innovative teaching (mini grants).
Promoting educational success (Teacher of the Year/Student Awards).
The promotion of public awareness as it relates to the understanding and acknowledgement of issues on a local and societal level.
